I am a licensed professional counselor, and Sunday Counseling, PLLC is the clinical home for that work.

Training and credentials

Master's in counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, license 93220. I have been a counselor for three years, fully licensed for one, and I am currently a PhD student in counselor education and supervision. I am a member of the American Counseling Association, ACES, SACES, and CCA.

My credibility is clinical training plus a human approach. I do not pretend to have everything figured out. I know what it is to have big feelings, wrestle with anxiety and depression, and learn to relate to those experiences differently. That is the kind of safety I try to make in the room.

I trained at Dallas Theological Seminary. If faith is part of your life, it can be in the room. It will never be used to skip the hard parts, or to tell you that you just need more of it.

How I work

Relational, human-centered, and anti-shame. Warm, direct, curious. People deserve to show up as their whole selves rather than performing who they think they should be. I will not pathologize you for having emotions, reduce you to a diagnosis, spiritually bypass the pain, or treat this as a place you come to be fixed. I will not put on a polished therapist persona either.

Rather than treating emotions, thoughts, or behaviors as problems to eliminate, we look at what is happening underneath so you can make different choices. Sometimes that includes a small, playful experiment. You do not have to become a different person. You might become more fully yourself.

I am the therapist who can sit with something heavy and then say, "Okay. Are you up for an experiment?"

If you have been told you are too much, or you are afraid changing means becoming someone you are not, you can bring that. I want you to leave feeling seen, not diagnosed.

Who this is for

Late teens and twenty-somethings who have been through hard things and are realizing the old survival strategies are not helping them thrive. Smart, self-aware, emotionally curious. Often stuck in anxious attachment, codependency, self-limitation, or emotional suppression. Not looking to be fixed. Looking to understand themselves clearly enough to choose differently.

Who this is not for

People who want a quick fix, a rigid treatment plan, or someone to tell them what to do. People looking for a highly clinical, diagnosis-centered experience. People who are not open to curiosity or trying something different. If you are in active psychiatric crisis, the right care is acute or inpatient, not this practice.

If you are not sure, the free consultation is the right next step.
